Vol 3: ‘Ancient and Contemporary Irish Music for Harp’ is a book of music designed for intermediate-advanced harp players interested in developing a stylish and interesting repertoire of Irish traditional music, from ancient, traditional and contemporary sources.
Katy currently teaches harp in Dunseverick Primary School and St Colum’s Primary, Portstewart. Katy prepares pupils for graded exams in Irish Traditional Harp through the London College of Music as well as facilitate performances for school events. Repertoire and technique will be developed throughout the year, with exams taken in the summer term.
Individual Tuition online via Skype
Katy offers individual tuition via Skype. This is a highly effective means of learning as pupils may record their lessons and access them at any time. A good internet connection and a screen large enough for you to see clearly and comfortable is advised.
Katy teaches using the traditional aural method, using audio-visual recordings and ABC notation to follow up. Pupils who can already read music may be interested in purchasing Katy’s recently published series of music books, which are designed to support and complement lessons.
